Singapore-based mental health tech startup Huddlehumans has globally launched its social mental health app Huddleverse that aims to revolutionise the way mental health conversation are approached.

Huddleverse, which is currently only available on Apple’s app store, promises to provide a safe haven of support, and understanding for its users who are navigating their mental health journeys as it allows them to anonymously share their troubles without the fear of judgement.

Users will also be able to build a strong social support network through engaging with text and voice capabilities, stickers, and other interactive features.

"Huddleverse is our unwavering commitment to addressing the neglected social aspect of mental health," said Viaano Spruyt, founder and CEO of Huddlehumans in a statement.

"We recognized this as a significant gap in the existing landscape of mental health support and wanted to dedicate ourselves entirely to addressing it through our app," he continued.

To commemorate its launch, Huddlehumans has partnered with Olympic gold medalist, Joseph Schooling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion, Constance Lien, and social media influencer, Hannah Alkaff in a launch video for the app that has been released on Huddleverse’s official Instagram and Facebook pages.

“Mental health is an intrinsic and vital aspect of our overall well-being, and at Huddleverse, we firmly believe that everyone deserves an empowering space to share their stories, free from any judgment or stigma,” said Huddleverse.

Huddleverse also has four main mascots which include a genderless penguin Penyoo, introverted female arctic fox Pink, charismatic male polar bar Chu and genderless seal Mochi to represent the diversity and inclusivity of the community.

“Our sincere hope is that this remarkable app will not only ignite a powerful and transformative conversation surrounding mental health but also inspire individuals around the world to seek the support and solace they truly deserve,” continued the statement.

It's parent company Huddlehumans, was founded in 2017 after Spruyt's internship at the Institute of Mental Health Singapore where he found his passion in advocating for the mentally distressed after realising how incredibly stigmatised mental health was in society.

As social media sites do their part in aiding communities, recently, TikTok announced that it will be launching a multi-million-dollar investment aimed at helping more than 120,000 SMBs transition their businesses online and participate in the digital economy in Southeast Asia, according to the platform.

The US$12.2 million investment will comprise cash grants, digital skills training and advertising credits for SMBs, including micro businesses, in rural and suburban areas, it said.
