Communications firm SCOP3 Group has named Mike Forster as its new managing director, according to Forster when MARKETING-INTERACTIVE reached out.

As managing director in Indonesia, Forster's key responsibilities include growing the firm's clients' reputation within their sector and maintain SCOP3's growth through adding additional services to its portfolio.

Forster will also be in charge of growing SCOP3's client base across the luxury lifestyle brand universe and growing the firm's team in terms of numbers of staff, as well as training and development.

In his regional role, Forster will also work on a global basis with clients in Singapore, Macau and Saudi Arabia.

Prior to his appointment at SCOP3, Forster worked at M&C Saatchi Group as its managing director of Shopex for over a year. Before that, he worked at Geometry Global, helming both its Korea outfit and Jakarta one as CEO. Geometry is part of the WPP Network of agencies.

In his role, he led a team of 50, specialising in activation and shopper marketing. He also worked with clients such as Unilever, Philips, Indosat and Coca Cola.

Forster has also held roles in companies such as G2 where he helmed its various offices in the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Moscow and the APAC region.

“I’m delighted to join Scop3 Group and to help spur the company’s impressive growth to new levels," said Forster when MARKETING-INTERACTIVE reached out.

"It's very exciting for me to learn more about the hospitality industry and get a deeper understanding of PR from the inside while adding my complimentary strategic marketing skills to the hospitality and media talents of the team," he added.

The agency scene in Indonesia has been booming recently with new appointments and agency launches. Recently, the market saw the launch of Moonfolks, an agency started by Anish Daryani shortly after he acquired M&C Saatchi Indonesia.

Daryani acquired 55% equity in the business earlier this month and later unveiled a new name for the agency - "Moonfolks." Moonfolks will be led by Daryani who will helm the role of president director and CEO.

Moonfolks, according to the company's release, is inspired by an AI-driven world where out-of-this-world ideas are needed. It aims to take brands to new heights.
