Scoot ties up with AXA for customised 'Scootsurance'

Scoot has entered an exclusive global partnership with AXA Insurance in a bid to offer a specially designed travel insurance solution — “Scootsurance” — for its passengers. Passengers purchasing Scoot flights with Singapore as their first point of departure will have the option to add Scootsurance. The budget carrier aims to integrate the option to be made available for departures from other countries as well.In line with the partnership, AXA will be offering exclusive coverage to Scoot passengers with reimbursement of a booking paid for with KrisFlyer miles. This would be in a circumstance that the passenger is unable to travel.Scoot passengers will also be provided essential protection for trip interruptions and cancellations, travel delays and misconnections, medical arrangements, baggage losses, full terrorism cover, accidental death and permanent disablement, among others.“We are pleased to partner with Scoot in protecting their passengers against unforeseen circumstances so they can travel worry free and focus on things that matter most on their trip,” Leo Costes, managing director, retail, and chief customer officer, AXA Insurance said.“Together with Scoot, we are enabling their passengers to purchase travel insurance through an easy and seamless process completely integrated into their ticket purchasing experience. Providing consumers with easy access to our offerings and complementing their journey with a superior user experience is at the heart of our digital transformation efforts,” he added.Vinod Kannan, chief commercial officer, Scoot explained that Scootsurance was designed to provide better coverage, greater value and exclusive benefits to be conveniently purchased by guests and passengers.“Through Scootsurance, Scoot is able to offer customers a unique product that aims to meet their travel needs and improve the entire travel experience.
