The Malaysian government will reportedly let the court decide if the Man on the Run documentary will be removed from Netflix following a request by former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, according to communications minister Fahmi Fadzil.
Man on the Run is a 98-minute documentary film currently airing on Netflix. It revolves around the ongoing 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal and features interviews with politicians and personalities including Najib himself.

Minister Fahmi said that the ministry has consulted the attorney general, its legal adviser along with other legal experts in the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) on the documentary.
Among those consulted, it was agreed upon that the court should be left to decide on the matter since it has already been raised in court and they are unable to override the process, explained Minister Fahmi, as reported by The Star.
He also said that Man on the Run was initially approved with no issues by the Film Censorship Board and was shown in cinemas in October last year.
This comes after Najib's lawyer, Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, filed an application in High Court urging the Malaysian government to remove Man on the Run from Netflix.
In addition, the former prime minister reportedly threatened legal action against former attorney general Tan Sri Tommy Thomas and Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown over statements they made in the documentary.
