Regal Hotels and csl partner up to unveil AR-inspired campaign

Regal Hotels has joined hands with telco csl to launch an immersive AR Lens Summer Lucky Draw campaign to create a fun and engaging experience for consumers.

Available until 20 August, the month-long campaign hopes to show the hotel's commitment to leveraging new technology and innovative approaches to create a refreshing experience for customers. With a positive working relationship with csl on the MetaGreen project, Regal Hotels decided to collaborate with the telco again as each of them can provide what the other side is lacking.

Targetting the younger segment that is more digitally savvy, Regal Hotels aims to promote itself more engagingly and interactively to acquire them to join the Regal Club loyalty programme, expand the brand reach and rejuvenate the brand image. In this campaign, AR technology is used to create a fun gamified experience by using the brand materials and products. It is believed to be a more attractive experience to a younger audience.

In terms of medium of promotion, the partnership has leveraged social media, owned media and SMS by csl to promote the campaign. It is expected to maximise exposure of the campaign within the media by cross-promotion.

Commenting on the partnership, Philip Chau, vice president of marketing, at Regal Hotels International, said: “Partnerships and collaborations are an important part of today’s marketing strategy. With CSL, we have found ourselves a like-minded partner with great synergy to create a win-win arrangement. With limited resources, we are able to deliver a fun and innovative gamification experience with incentives to reach a younger and more digitally savvy audience."

Most recently, Regal Hotels introduced its latest summer campaign Hello Summer to promote the culture of Hong Kong and recall collective memories via handling out soft serve from an ice cream truck.

Knowing that travellers these days are calling for authentic holidays with a local touch, experience and insight, the brand aimed to re-introduce Regal Hotels International’s subsidiary hotel brands such as Regal, Regala and iclub, create social media buzz and exposure by recalling collective memories for locals and tourists.
