Regal Hotels International has collaborated with MTR in showcasing a series of special themed rooms and gourmet to create a unique and memorable hospitality experience for rail fans in Hong Kong.

The first wave of the campaign is collaboratively launched by MTR and Regal Riverside Hotel on the first ever "Railcation”, allowing visitors to explore Sha Tin Station further from 1 December to 31 March 2023.

This comes as Regal Hotels and MTR share the same concept of “Travel around, Stay around”. The partnership aims to stimulate local traffic and deliver an extraordinary hospitality experience to guests. “Staycation” is one of the concepts promoting more outing and travelling locally and experiencing Hong Kong through MTR’s extensive rail network.

The rail-themed rooms are decorated with MTR train-shaped children’s bed, MTR ambassador T Chai paintings, thematic bedsheets, pillows, cushions and more. In addition to the numerous photo corners, the staycation package also includes a variety of interactive elements for children, such as archaeology-themed games.

Guests can enjoy the stunning view of the Shing Mun River from the MTR-themed room. At the same time, there is also a bed framed like an MTR train cabin in the room. Guests not only can enjoy light breakfast buffet and dinner buffet at L'Eau Restaurant but also engage in MTR-themed interactive games, T Chai-themed photo corners and receive the MTR-themed souvenirs, including an exclusive debut MTR-themed Music Box.

The MTR-themed rooms are available at Regal Riverside Hotel at the first wave of the campaign, which can be reached through Tuen Ma Line and East Rail Line.

In terms of marketing strategies, MTR has offered an extensive advertising placement for this campaign to draw the public awareness, from in-train, in-station and online channels such as TV, train door sticker, display adverting printings and through its MTR mobile app and member database.

The partnership will be promoted via banner ads, teasers on social media channels, creating video content, landing page, booking website, MTR mobile app and direct booking at designated e-stores.

Philip Chau, vice president, group head of marketing at Regal Hotels International, said: “We are very excited to partner with MTR. Brand collaborations are becoming increasingly effective in expanding one’s brand and reaching new audiences. At Regal Hotels, we continue to look for ways to refresh our brand and reach new customers. This is a good example of something new to excite our existing customers.”
