US fried chicken brand Raising Cane's is not coming to Singapore. This comes after a now-deleted TikTok video reportedly claimed that the fried chicken franchise would open its first branch in Singapore in October 2024.

In a statement to Mothership, Raising Cane's reportedly said that it is continually looking at global destinations and popular cities to open Raising Cane's, but don't currently have plans to open restaurants in Singapore.

This is despite the country's energy and excitement, added the statement.

In addition, Raising Cane's reportedly said that any advertisements and announcements of Raising Cane's coming to Singapore or mentioning specific opening dates and locations are fake.

It reportedly added that the advertisements were not from its verified Raising Cane's account.

Checks by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE revealed that a new unverified Rising Cane's Singapore TikTok account has been created. The account bio claims that it is "coming soon" and featured a pin emoji followed by "Singapore".

The account posted a video with the caption "Stay tuned". The video features the brand's chicken fingers, bread, fries and dips.

MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to Raising Cane's for more information.

Raising Cane's is not the only brand to be a victim of fake ads in recent times.

Earlier in June this year, Singapore General Hospital (SGH) came forward to warn the public of fake advertisements using its logo.

In a Facebook post, SGH said that advertisements on social media platforms are using its logo to promote health products. Accompanying the post was a collage of four advertisements promoting products such as eye drops that can solve astigmatism, a blood sugar test machine and more.

The hospital advised those interested in buying health products online to speak to their doctor to find out if the product is suitable for them and to avoid purchasing from unfamiliar or dubious sources. It added that the public should not be fooled by false claims.
