Mediacorp has appointed Jonathan Seto (pictured) as its head of commercial engagement. He will report to chief customer and corporate development officer Angeline Poh, with a dual reporting line to chief commercial officer Jacqui Lim.

In his new role, Seto will be tasked to enhance alignment and facilitate seamless collaborative work across both groups, a Mediacorp spokesperson told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE. "His leadership will play a key role in aligning and advancing Mediacorp's synergistic targets for audience and financial growth," added the spokesperson.

Seto has 20 years of experience in the industry having taken on key leadership roles in media publishers, experiential marketing agencies and B2B tech marketing agencies. Throughout his career, he has specialised in working with clients from diverse industries such as FSI, private banking, technology, travel, government, retail, luxury and lifestyle, according to his LinkedIn.

Seto joins Mediacorp after exiting The Smart Local (TSL) Media Group, where he served as chief growth officer until December 2024. As chief growth officer, Seto's main role was to evolve the homegrown digital publisher to the next phase of growth by working closely with the CEO to define the growth strategy and product-market in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines, according to his LinkedIn.

Prior to joining TSL Media Group, Seto was the senior vice president and managing director of APAC at MOI Global where he was responsible for growing the agency's footprint in the APAC region. At MOI Global, he rose through the ranks from account manager to regional SVP/managing director in five years, as well as grew the agency’s revenue by 18x, according to Seto. He also expanded the team from three to 65 full-time staff. His key accounts include Google Cloud, Meta, Amazon Web Services and UBS.

Seto also held roles at MMSBT, George P Johnson, Luminous Experiential Marketing Communications and The Event Company Staging Connections.

“As Singapore’s national media network, Mediacorp is at the forefront of shaping developments across the country’s media ecosystem, and I am excited to be part of this dynamic organisation. I look forward to collaborating with my team Mediacorp colleagues to explore new content monetisation opportunities and contribute to the company’s continued growth," said Seto.

Seto is not the only notable person in the industry to join Mediacorp in recent times. In May last year, the media conglomerate named agency veteran Jacqui Lim as its chief commercial officer.  As chief commercial officer, Lim will be instrumental in charting a roadmap for boosting revenue streams, developing a commercial strategy aligned with Mediacorp’s efforts to constantly innovate and augment its offerings for audiences and advertisers.
