QSR Brands owner JCorp names new president and chief executive

The parent company of QSR Brands, Johor Corporation (JCorp), has named Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim (pictured) its new president and chief executive, effective today. His appointment comes after Kamaruzzaman bin Abu Kassim retired on 31 December 2019.
Syed Mohamed has more than 34 years of experience and expertise in banking, corporate, real estate development, technology and business strategy. Before his appointment, he was the chairman of FELDA Investment Corporation; president and executive director of Iskandar Waterfront Holdings, chairman of Encorp; president and CEO of Iskandar Investment; CEO of TH Properties; and group director of DRB-HICOM. He began his career at Bank Bumiputera and Bank Rakyat before joining JCorp from 1989 to 1993. He is also the chairman of Prasarana Integrated Development, a board member of Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation, and the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation.
Sahruddin bin Haji Jamal, Johor chief minister and JCorp chairman, said it is confident that Syed Mohamed will continue to ensure JCorp's relevance and sustainability in undertaking its role as a state development agent for over five decades, driven by its mission "MEMBINA DAN MEMBELA".
JCorp has businesses in property, specialist healthcare, industrial development and hospitality. Among the list of companies it owns include Johor Land, TPM Technopark, JCorp Hotels and Resorts, and KPJ Healthcare.
