Digital technology company PubMatic has promoted Sudipto Das to VP advertising solutions, APAC, as part of its plan to drive further growth across APAC. Das (pictured) was formerly regional director, South Asia and SEA, for PubMatic and is based in Delhi currently. Having been with PubMatic in India for five years, he will move to Singapore with his family as soon as travel restrictions are lifted.
In his new role, Das will continue to focus on relationships with major agency holding groups, and assist in the implementation of new supply path optimisation deals that aim to increase control and provide better insight into programmatic ad campaigns. According to a press release, Das has a long track record in digital advertising, having worked previously for NDTV where he was head of video strategy and monetisation, while he has also worked for LinkedIn, Yahoo! and Zee Telefilms. Marketing has reached out for additional information.
Jason Barnes, chief revenue officer, PubMatic APAC said Das has been "especially adept" at forging close relationships with agencies, and as a result, has closed many agency trading deals and supply path optimisation partnerships over the years. "Das has had great success in building the South Asia business over the past five years and most recently also took charge of the Southeast Asia business and driven growth in this region as well,” Barnes added.
Additionally, Singapore-based Marcus Pousette, who was previously country manager of GCK (Greater China and Korea) and publisher sales for SEA, has been promoted to country manager of SEA and GCK. He will now take full responsibility for the SEA region.
Pousette joined PubMatic in Europe five years ago. According to his LinkedIn, he first joined as director publisher sales, Northern Europe, before relocating to Singapore in 2018 director publisher development SEA and mobile app APAC. He took on the country manager GCK and publisher sales SEA in April this year, before assuming full responsibility of the SEA market.
Meanwhile, Amit Yadav, PubMatic's director of advertiser solutions, South Asia, has also been promoted to country manager, South Asia. Yadav has been with PubMatic since 2016, and has worked closely with agency holding groups, demand-side platforms, and publishers in the Indian market. Yadav said programmatic advertising is maturing in India and South Asia region, and he looks forward to being part of the evolution.
According to PubMatic, it has added four incremental headcount in the APAC region in the second quarter and said it would continue to add to its APAC teams across every layer of the company as they support publishers and advertisers across channels including mobile, video, connected TV, and display.
Back in 2018, PubMatic partnered with Indonesian publishers such as Kapanlagi Youniverse, Kompas Gramedia, IDNTIMES, Tempo, Viva and KASKUS Networks to create a media marketplace. The marketplace looks to provide advertisers with “high-impact rich media advertising” at scale, with guaranteed delivery in a trusted and brand-safe environment.
