Prudential Malaysia elevates Angeline Tung to head of brand and comms

Prudential Assurance Malaysia has promoted Angeline Tung to head of brand and communications, reporting to chief marketing and partnerships distribution officer, Eric Wong. Prudential's spokesperson confirmed the appointment to A+M. Tung's (pictured) role covers brand strategy, advertising, digital and content marketing, app marketing, lead generation and nurturing, corporate communication and PR as well as customer experience.

According to her LinkedIn, she's the go-to person for brand and communication strategy, consumer insights and propositions for effective campaign ideas, content creation, messaging, and sales narratives. Tung also takes the lead for go-to-market strategy and plans for all consumer campaigns at the insurer, including its health and wealth AI-powered app, Pulse by Prudential. Her promotion comes as Fiona Liao, former head of brand, left to join Pos Malaysia as group chief marketing and communications officer recently.

Before joining Prudential in 2018, Tung was GM at Publicis Groupe where she was responsible for marketing and communications management, digital innovation leadership, as well as creating and managing growth. She also helped clients of the Groupe build up a strong command of all aspects of communications including consumer targeting, research, product development, competitive positioning to crisis management, and achieved strong campaign outcomes across a multitude of categories and tasks. She spent 12 years with the Groupe. Tung also worked at JWT Malaysia as account director for four years, prior to its merger with Wunderman Thompson.

Meanwhile, Wong was recently elevated to his current role as chief marketing and partnerships distribution officer. Prior to that, he was chief customer and marketing officer and joined in 2017. Wong has more than 10 years of experience under his belt and has worked across industries including banking, FMCG, and insurance.
