Prego MY taps MY singer to promote fuss-free cooking this Raya

Prego has released its latest Raya campaign, "Rasa Raya Epik" (an epic taste of Raya), that promises fuss-free cooking and meal preparation for the festive holiday. 

The campaign film, titled 'Mak-star Chef' is a localised play on the famous Masterchef series, and stars a young woman preparing Raya meals for her family for the holiday. 

Despite the expectations placed on her, with family members such as her mother-in-law watching, and eagerly awaiting the meals being made, the young woman remains calm and collected, akin to a true master chef, with the help of Prego to cook-up Prego's Spaghetti Marinara. 

The campaign also turned to KOL Ayda Jebat, a well-known Malaysian singer and actress, who utilised her social media channels to highlight how easy it is to prepare the perfect Raya meal with Prego. On her Instagram page, she shared how she is inspired to impress her family with the help of Prego, and called to her followers to share their most epic pasta dishes.

The brand partnered with agency MBCS to produce the campaign.

“The idea for this film stemmed from the pressures felt by mothers during the festive season, especially with their mother-in-law. Raya is really the Olympics of hosting, where mums feel the need to be perfect, and impress their family as the hostess with the ‘mostess’," said Rudy LaFaber, creative director of MBCS.

LaFaber added that pasta has become a common feature within the traditional Raya spread in most Malay households.

"We wanted to show the lighter side of these pressures through a fun and lighthearted spot that also demonstrates how easy cooking with Prego can be. We hope these epic scenes reminiscent of Masterchef inspires all mums to bring out their inner ‘Mak-ster Chef’ this festive season," concluded LaFaber.
