Police report filed for ads misusing Joseph Schooling name and image

The Schooling company has lodged a police report as online ads have been circulating featuring the local athlete. According to a statement from The Schooling Company, these advertisements and “news” articles dispense financial advice that is not endorsed by the swimmer.The Schooling company added that this was a false representation and a misuse of Schooling’s image and name these advertisements and “news” articles dispense financial advice that is not endorsed by the swimmer.“We have been made aware that there are several websites making use of Joseph Schooling’s name and image in their advertisements and ‘news’ articles. […]He has never spoken to these websites nor ‘reporters’,” the statement said.Most recently, Yakult Singapore partnered with ADK Singapore to introduce Joseph Schooling in its “Billions Strong” campaign. The campaign aims to offer a rare glimpse of Schooling’s journey before he emerged under the spotlight.Borneo Motors, the distributor for Toyota, also signed an agreement with Olympian Joseph Schooling for a brand ambassadorship for a sum which was not disclosed. The move will see Schooling drive three different models of Toyota vehicles over the next three years.According to The Straits Times, this includes the Toyota RAV4 which costs around SG$142,000, a 2019 RAV4 which costs around SG$150,000 to SG$160,000 and a Toyota Supra which has an estimate worth of SG$200,000 and SG$300,000.
