Poh Heng has unveiled a "Wear Your Story" campaign to commemorate the brand's seven decades of heritage, as well as the lead up to Singapore’s National Day. The campaign features a film and a week-long interactive exhibition at Orchard.
The film takes viewers through the journey of a jeweller working day and night to provide for the family and eventually rewarding his wife with a hand-made jewellery. The spot was inspired by the story of Poh Heng’s founder and Singapore’s rich Peranakan heritage. Through the film, Poh Heng aims to highlight its roots and progress over the last seven decades.
Meanwhile, the exhibition will feature seven unique interactive spaces, each dedicated to a decade of Poh Heng’s 70 years of rich history and showcases jewellery from the brand since its founding in 1948. It will also include the latest jewellery collection – Poh Heng Legacy. Visitors will be able to view the new Poh Heng Legacy collection, engage in interactive activities and share their experiences on social media with the hashtag #WearYourStory. Watch the film here:
Pamela Seow, assistant general manager, Poh Heng said the exhibition allows visitors to immerse in an up-close and intimate experience with Singapore’s history and to experience Poh Heng’s legacy and evolution through the ages. She also added that despite the heavy influence of Peranakan, the design aesthetics of jewelleries have evolved within each decade riding on the ever-changing trends in fashion and technology advancement in jewellery making.
“Singapore is home to one of the world’s most precious creole cultures – the Peranakan culture. It is truly a unique feature here. We are taking this opportunity to commemorate more than half a century of our Peranakan heritage by creating a memorable collection; inviting Singaporeans to wear their story,” Seow said.
