Pizza Hut MY and Coca Cola partner to launch whacky new pizza flavours

Pizza Hut Malaysia and Coca-Cola have teamed up to create a range of innovative flavour offerings, including ‘Hawaiian Cola Pizza’ and ‘Krispy Cola Wingstreet’ as it looks to create a new taste experience. 

The two iconic brands have fused their most loved signature products, combined two distinct flavours and have created a new experience for consumers. The month-long campaign, which commenced on 1 August, will see a four-month long process of development come to fruition. During the development stages, multiple recipes and combinations were tested before the pizza brand settled on the chosen flavour profiles.

Hawaiian Cola Pizza is a fusion of Pizza Hut's top selling Hawaiian Chicken Pizza and a specially concocted sauce made with the signature Cola syrup. This, according to a release to the press, aims to create a symphony of piquant and savoury flavours that end with a note of Cola’s signature fizz. Meanwhile, the Krispy Cola WingStreet features juicy chicken wings coated in a special cola-based glaze.

Pizza Hut Malaysia, chief marketing officer Emily Chong said that Pizza-Hut and Coca-Cola are both brands that drive innovation, which is why it remains a favourite for people from all walks of life.

“Mash-ups always create intrigue, especially with well-loved flavours. Hence, this unique creation is a testament to our shared values of finding new and fulfilling ways to delight our customers,” she said.

Coca-Cola’s bottling investments group CEO for Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei, Tolga Cebe said that the partnership between the brands is a much anticipated one. Especially with the match of values between the two, where both brands prioritise customer experience, made their collaboration a “perfect decision”. “With this unique new offering, customers can now savour both flavours in a single, mouthwatering creation, bringing them a truly Real Magic experience between Coca-Cola and Pizza Hut,” he said.

To amplify the excitement, a special vending machine is also set to be installed in a surprise location within the Klang Valley. Fans who encounter the vending machine will be treated to a surprise, thus adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience.

Pizza Hut has been at the forefront of adopting innovative methods to lure fans in. One such method has been through the use of artificial intelligence. Across the shores at Pizza Hut Singapore, it recently created a campaign using Midjourney, an AI-generated programme. The campaign featured visual highlights that emphasised the brand’s commitment to remain accessible to everyone as they cut down advertising and creative cost and pass the savings down to its customers.
