PETRONAS is fulfilling the dreams of 50 Malaysians in need through the PETRONAS 50 Dreams campaign which is in conjunction with its 50th-anniversary celebrations.
As part of the campaign, a series of web films have been released that feature the inspiring stories of three individuals.

The first film features basketball enthusiast Mervin, a teenage boy with cerebral palsy, who has dreamed of giving back to his community by becoming a basketball coach.
PETRONAS staff worked with various local communities for PETRONAS 50 Dreams and gave Mervin the opportunity to coach team PETRONAS Sports & Recreational Club (KSRP) in a friendly match against the national team, according to media reports. He also had the opportunity to meet his idol Heng Yee Tong.
In the film, Mervin can be seen equipped with a whiteboard and marker in a team huddle as he draws out the game plan based on a team discussion which eventually leads the team to victory.
The next film features Atika who was diagnosed with stage four cancer. She dreams of having a birthday celebration by the beach and spending time with her friends. To fulfil her wish, PETRONAS worked on a surprise birthday party that left Atika crying tears of joy the moment she walked through the doors of the event.
A third film showcased the story of Sim Xin Yi, whose condition caused her to lose her hearing. However, despite the challenges she faced, Sim managed to find a job and keep an optimistic outlook on life.
As a PETRONAS 50 Dreams recipient, she was given a hearing aid and speech therapy classes.
“PETRONAS was a dream come true because of the belief and support from those around us. By paying attention to the dreams of others, we are reminded that all things are possible, together,” said the brand.
In conjunction with its 50th anniversary, PETRONAS also ushered in Chinese New Year with two heartwarming brand films.
The films, titled "When The Heart Calls" and "To Those Who Wait To Celebrate", weaves together two perspectives across two different eras.
"When The Heart Calls" follows a married woman called Ting Ting who spends the first day of Chinese New Year with her husband's family. While celebrations are happening, she sneaks into an office to call her family and wish them a happy new year.
The ending leads straight into the second brand film, "To Those Who Wait To Celebrate". In this film, Ting Ting - now older - is on the phone with their eldest daughter who expresses sadness at her inability to spend the first day of Chinese New Year with her family.
