In its latest campaign, Olympian City has once again worked with a group of children to co-create a series of activities to delight visitors, encompassing digital elements and photogenic spots in the mall.
Olympian City has recruited 23 children aged 5 to 10 to join the “Olympian Kids Imagineer” advisory board to conceive and create the “Joyful Adventure” campaign. The “Olympian Kids Imagineer” presented the first children-led mall campaign during Christmas last year. This year, two children advisors, including balloon artist Wilson Pang and kids' event consultant Kevin Poon, have been tasked to help the children to create Olympian City’s major summer campaign, designing and planning activities to transform the mall into the “Happy Land”.
Consisting of four zones, the campaign is running until 5 September. The first zone includes about 3,000 hot air balloons in the mall, creating massive clouds and colourful hot air balloons of varying sizes to serve as a backdrop of photogenic photos. Taking the environment into consideration, the balloons are made from natural latex, a biodegradable material extracted from rubber tree sap. In addition, a solar power generator is used to collect sunlight during daytime for generating energy to light up the hot air balloon installation in the evening.
To offer a better experience, Olympian City has also provided visitors with the 3D projection mapping technology to "fly" in the mall. Visitors can create a design for the hot air balloon and ride on their own design for a trip above iconic Hong Kong landmarks. They can also take their design home after the ride.
The third zone “Funderful World” allows children to share joyful moments with their friends, while their families can relax on the lawn where a colourful tent and giant balloon serve as another spot for taking photos.
Lastly, the fourth zone “Kids Market” is aimed at nurturing children's concentration and developing their self-confidence and the children are invited to run and manage stalls at the "Kids Market". All visitors can interact with the children stall owners and redeem tokens with Olympian Kids or Olympian City's operator Sino Group's rewards programme S+ REWARDS points or through donating to Ebenezer School & Home for the Visually Impaired for shopping and games at the market.
Olympian City added that prior to the event, the children had undergone a month of intensive training to pick up magic and juggling tricks under the guidance of a magician, while the children advisors put on clown costumes and staged a parade at Olympian 1, 2 and 3 on 14 and 21 August to surprise visitors too.
