Ogilvy China has made several promotions to strengthen its service offerings, including current Ogilvy Shanghai president Yong Yuan who will be given an additional role of president of Ogilvy Advertising in China.
Yuan's position was held by Melinda Po before, as Po is leaving the agency after taking up the position last May. In his added responsibility as head of advertising across China, he will be responsible for the transformation and growth of the agency's largest business, working with leaders across all offices.
Po joined the agency from Edelman China where she was chief operating officer. She previously worked as managing partner for Ogilvy Shanghai, building a portfolio of international clients across the FMCG, retail, automobile and cosmetics sectors. Prior to that, she drove AKQA’s integrated service growth, turning the agency into a key digital brand partner in China.
Meanwhile, current chief growth officer for Ogilvy China Angel Chen will take on the additional role of president of Ogilvy Beijing. In this position, Chen is in charge of the overall strategy and performance of the entire office operations.
“I am very grateful for both of them for stepping up and taking on more responsibilities at a capability and local office level, working closely with our key clients while also partnering with me on driving the overall strategy and performance of our business in China. I couldn’t think of a better setup to push our agenda forward," said Chris Reitermann, CEO for Ogilvy Asia and Greater China.
Additionally, Autumn Guo has been promoted to managing director of Ogilvy Advertising in Beijing from his previous position as managing partner. In his expanded role, Guo will drive the overall performance and transformation of Ogilvy’s Advertising business in Beijing. Susie Xu, vice president of strategy for Ogilvy Beijing will be given an additional role of head of brand strategy for Ogilvy China. In her new role, she will focus on the agency's modernisation of its brand strategy offer and drive new business and client opportunities.
Other announcements include Aki Xia’ promotion to managing partner for Ogilvy Beijing and current deputy general manager of Ogilvy Qingdao Dahai Liu's promotion to managing director.
