Hate Valentines Day? Universal Robina Corporation (URC) has partnered with OMG’s BBDO Guerrero to set up a Venting Machine, a safe space to release all your frustrations surrounding the day of love.
Located in Manila's shopping district, The Venting Machine, a 16-foot-tall booth in the shape of a Chill can allowed users to scream, punch and slice in themed games. Upon completion of the game, users would get a can of Chill, a 5% alcoholic beverage. Hundreds of people were able to participate in the two-day weekend event that took place in early February.

"We wanted to connect with young Filipinos (within the legal drinking age) by offering them a drama-free moment this love month. We created the venting machine to give them an avenue to have fun and just chill." says Mian David, URC’s chief marketing officer. “That’s what Chill is all about – it offers a laid-back drinking experience for people who want to just relax and unwind.”
Karen Go, general manager at BBDO Guerrero, continued by saying: “Younger Filipinos love to creatively express their feelings. Congratulations to our partners at Chill for their successful event and we are excited to see how we can elevate them further.”
MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out for more information on the campaign.
URC launched the alcoholic beverage, Chill, in August 2022. “Chill Spiked Spirit will offer a refreshing, laidback drinking experience with just the right kick, minus the heavy feeling,” said URC chief marketing officer Mian D at that point. David. David said more people are now looking for the same relaxing, light and personal moments they experienced when drinking at home because of the COVID-19 pandemic and that this was what they were trying to replicate.
