MSL Hong Kong’s general manager Miuson Chi (pictured) has taken on an expanded role as executive creative officer, effective immediately.

Chi will continue to report to Publicis Groupe Hong Kong CEO Tom Kao and group managing director Alexis Chiu.

As MSL transitions from a traditional PR firm to an integrated, PR-led creative agency, the creation of this new role underscores the agency’s commitment to nurturing creativity and innovation, said Chi in a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE.

The role is strategically designed to utilise its expansive team of creatives who are dedicated to addressing diverse client challenges across PR, social media, and experiential marketing.

Within his new role, Chi’s responsibilities are comprehensive and align with the 'Power of One' model of Publicis Groupe. His primary focus is to lead MSL Hong Kong, ensuring that we deliver measurable business results for its clients.

He will also support various divisions within the group alongside his creative partner, Lok Lai, and his team, focusing on campaigns designed to enhance their viral potential and effectively engage diverse communities.

Chi joined MSL as consultant of corporate and consumer practice in 2017. During the seven years of tenure at MSL, he had helmed various senior positions such as director of integrated communications and was most recently the general manager of MSL Hong Kong.

“Continuing to perform at my best and meet expectations remains my priority. As someone deeply influenced by manga, the 'Friendship, effort, victory' motto from Shōnen Jump strongly resonates with me. I am committed to a leadership style that fosters teamwork, perseveres through challenges, and celebrates triumphs in a rewarding and enjoyable way. Let's journey toward our goals together!” he added.

Back in May, MSL's parent company Publicis Groupe Hong Kong promoted Christopher Lee to its new chief creative officer, reporting to Tom Kao, CEO of Publicis Groupe Hong Kong.

Within his new role, Lee is responsible for pushing the creative excellence of the Publicis Groupe Hong Kong. He is also tasked at creating media-agnostic ideas and creative platforms that have longevity; and creating creative commercial solutions for the groupe’s range of clients.

His current clients span several key sectors, including finance, insurance, airlines, and brands representative of Hong Kong.
