Mindshare's Anisha Iyer joins OMD Malaysia as MD

OMD Malaysia has named Anisha Iyer (pictured) as managing director, effective immediately. She is responsible for elevating OMD's digital capabilities and ensuring the teams continue to leverage the network's regional and global momentum for their clients in Malaysia.Iyer will report into Ranga Somanathan, CEO of Omnicom Media Group Singapore and Malaysia, as well as Stephen Li, CEO of OMD APAC. Meanwhile, OMD's spokesperson confirmed to A+M that former MD Margaret Lim (pictured below) was promoted to a group level role in investment in mid-2018, and continues to report to Somanathan.Prior to this role, Iyer was digital partner for Southeast Asia at Mindshare, handling accounts such as Nestle, Unilever, Telekom Malaysia, Pizza Hut, Volvo, Astro, Malaysia Airlines and HSBC. Iyer has more than 14 years of experience from the agency, client and tech side of the media and marketing landscape, having worked in Southeast Asia based out of Kuala Lumpur, the US and India. She is also serving as a a board member of the Malaysian Digital Association.Iyer said she is delighted to be joining the team, adding that it's an "incredible opportunity", considering OMD’s stature in the market. "I am excited about the endless opportunities and challenges this new role offers me, localising the network’s best-in-class infrastructure and frameworks, and ensuring our clients in Malaysia unlock the full power of the OMD offering to drive better decisions, faster for their businesses," she added.Meanwhile, Somanathan said the agency has been on a transformational journey over the past two years and with Iyer’s "incredible" talent and passion for digital, data and content, she will "undoubtedly" be a catalyst in accelerating that transformation."I have every confidence that OMD will continue to scale even greater heights in Malaysia under her leadership," he said.Li added that Iyer's energy and passion are contagious and will be an invaluable asset for the team as it continues to scale in Malaysia.
