Mindshare Asia Pacific has appointed Sumeet Parab as managing director of Mindshare Taiwan.
Parab is a marketing veteran with a career spanning over 15 years across multiple Southeast Asia markets in various roles on both the client and agency side. He joined Mindshare’s Team Unilever in Indonesia in 2014 after spending more than a decade with Kimberley Clark. He was elevated to lead Mindshare Team Unilever in 2016 and then took on his current role as WPP lead on Unilever, helping shape Unilever’s shift towards accelerated data-driven marketing in Indonesia and has been instrumental in building e-commerce capabilities, partnerships, and influencer marketing.
Parab has moved from his current position in Jakarta to Taiwan. Earlier, Mindshare Taiwan was led by Susan Chao who had been promoted as CEO of GroupM Taiwan in 2018 and had been double leading as CEO of Mindshare as well.
In his latest position, Parab will report to both Chao and Amrita Randhawa, CEO of Mindshare APAC.
Randhawa commented, "Taiwan holds a special place for Mindshare, and it is with supreme confidence that we hand over this important office to Parab’s calm and meticulous leadership. With a passion for coding, fluency in SQL, Python, and a keen interest in machine learning, Parab embodies the dynamic leadership which will power Mindshare forward."
Speaking of his elevation, Parab said, “Working as the lead for WPP Team Unilever was like a marketer’s dream come true. It was wonderful to be part of many first of its kind business models, categories, brands and media innovations while keeping talent strategy at the core.
"Looking ahead, Taiwan is where Mindshare was born. I am looking forward to Taiwan, as we look to shape the change around us today, using the best of media tech, creativity and the art of consumer connect," he added.
