MGM has announced that in addition to organising Macau’s first-ever food and music festival, it is working with celebrity Nicholas Tse to launch what it has named  “MGM Chef Nic Gastronomusic Fest”.

The two-day event (running from 30 November to 1 December) is promising to deliver global gastronomic fare and pop music at MGM Cotai with singer-chef Tse providing the multisensory delights. In addition to a high-octane live performance, the Chef Nic team and the MGM head chefs will be serving up a creative array of dishes.

On the music front, the event will bring together an impressive lineup of Asian music performers headlined by Tse including Cantopop singers Joey Yung, Adason Lo, Angela Hui, and Joey Wong, as well as Hong Kong pop-rock band Mr.  Also joining in the festivities will be Chinese singer Liu Junge, Singaporean singer Joanna Dong, and emerging Macau music group MFM. Rounding off the musical entries with some EDM will be Asia’s party fixture DJ Corsak.

This collaboration is part of the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR and is hoped to reaffirm Macau’s position as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.

Banking on food as a central selling point has been one of the biggest trends for hotels in recent years. Hooking up with Tse is a savvy twist on the formula as since its first TV broadcast in 2016, Chef Nic has evolved from a popular food travelogue show into a full-fledged lifestyle brand.
