MediaCom has promoted former content and strategy lead at Team P&G Archana Ram to managing director of Singapore. As part of her new remit, Ram (pictured left) will be responsible for driving commercial growth, managing key client relationships and the ongoing development of the MediaCom Singapore team. Ram’s promotion is effective from 1 July, and she will to report jointly to Mark Heap, CEO MediaCom APAC and Puneet Arora, CEO GroupM Singapore and Philippines. Ram replaces Vivian Yeung (pictured right) who helmed the role since 2016. Yeung is currently in discussion about her next role within the group.

Ram began her journey with MediaCom India over 13 years ago. Since relocating to Singapore in 2013, Ram has been a pivotal member of the regional hub team, according to the agency. She has a track record in developing progressive solutions and digital transformation through forging new paths into social, eCommerce and planning methods. Prior to joining MediaCom, Ram was a media planner at US-based agencies Beber Silverstein Group and Burgundy Group Advertising, according to her LinkedIn.

Ram said: "After over a decade with MediaCom and the last seven years in a regional role, I am excited to be taking on this new market role, which comes with great responsibility and lots of learning. Yeung has built a fantastic legacy and I look forward to taking this to greater heights.” Yeung added that she is confident Ram will continue MediaCom's growth trajectory in her new role.

Mark Heap, APAC CEO said Ram is a has a very sharp intellect, coupled with a passion and commitment for the industry, which has led to "an outstanding track record of pioneering work", adding that he is excited to see how she can further develop MediaCom's business in Singapore.

"Yeung was also a pioneer, forging ahead to break down departmental silos and digitise the workforce, paving the way for several years of growth and success under her leadership. After seven years leading MediaCom Singapore, it’s now a great time for Yeung to apply her skills to a fresh challenge. I’d like to thank Yeung for her commitment, passion and leadership on behalf of everyone at MediaCom Singapore," Heap added.

Last month, MediaCom's worldwide chairman and CEO Stephen Allan stepped down after 12 years in the role and 38 years overall with the agency. Allan was appointed global head of MediaCom in August 2008 and was previously CEO of GroupM UK. He also helmed the role of CEO of MediaCom UK before that. Succeeding Allan is COO worldwide Nick Lawson who will take over the global CEO role effective 1 July, following a transitionary period. Lawson took on the COO worldwide position in 2019 and was previously the CEO of EMEA in 2008 and CEO of MediaCom UK in 2006.
