Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has appointed Fadzli Shah (pictured) as the new chief strategy officer. Shah last helmed the role of a general manager at a venture capital firm, Team Venture Capital which primarily focused on energy, eCommerce, fintech and agriculture. Prior to his role with Team Venture Capital, Shah was the president of Technopreneurs Association of Malaysia. According to his LinkedIn, Shah was involved in advocating for policies to maximise market entry, funding and export for tech and tech-enabled ventures. He also claim to have established a series of skills-based sharing and education targeted to technopreneurs, while working with multiple NGOs and agencies to facilitate technopreneurs. Before that, he was with location-based retailer marketing platform, Vocheres as its founder and managing director between 2012 to 2014. Shah has experiences working as an analyst in UK, with companies McKinsey and swisspartners Investment Network. With two venture exits in Europe between 2005 to 2009, he is also an active proponent of the localisation of proven business models into an ASEAN context. According to MDEC, Shah has an "impressive and diverse track record" across areas which include early stage startups, infrastructural project investment, and management consulting. As an entrepreneur and investor, Shah was said to be passionate about technology enabled disruption of low innovation industries. A+M has reached out for additional information on Shah's role.
