McDonald's Hong Kong will close 38 outlets in the city temporarily and stop offering round-the-clock services. On its Facebook page, McDonald's Hong Kong said it had been facing tremendous pressure lately due to the pandemic, with manpower shortages and supply chain disruption severely hampering the F&B chain's daily operation. After considering the safety of its staff and how to offer services to customers, the restaurant chain has decided to temporarily close 38 outlets. About 90 other McDonald's Hong Kong outlets will only open until 6pm. The business hours of the remaining restaurants will also be shortened.

In addition, McDonald's Hong Kong has decided to suspend round-the-clock services, including its 24 Hours McDelivery services. McDonald's will push their evening deals earlier to 5pm to allow more people to enjoy the discount.

Apart from the adjusted operating hours, McDonald's Hong Kong has also changed their evening deals starting from 5pm. According to information on McDonald's Hong Kong app, there is additional information (晚市5時起) pertaining to evening deals that can be used from 5pm to 11pm until 13 March, reminding customers that it had changed its service offerings.

Apart from McDonald's Hong Kong, some restaurant chains in the city have also adjusted their service offerings. For example, some of Tamjai Yunnan Mixian's outlets only offer takeaway services. Many of them even stop operating temporarily.

Moreover, F&B chain LH Group chairman and CEO Simon Wong announced on his Facebook that as some of its staff are hoping to resume working, the group is planning to resume some of its operations and they could only offer takeaway services at the moment.

LH Group previously announced that in view of the recent outbreak of pandemic in Hong Kong, the company decided to suspend the operation of all the restaurants of the Group with effect from 28 February 2022. Chairman Simon Wong expected that the suspension will be in a temporary nature. "The group will be closely monitoring the market conditions and adjust its response strategies in a timely manner, and will endeavor to reopen the said restaurants in due course," he added.

LH Group operates 11 F&B brands in Hong Kong, according to its website. Some notable brands include Gyu-Kaku, On-Yasai, Mou Mou Club and Peace Cuisine.
