Forget kid's birthday parties. McDonald’s Indonesia is stepping into wedding catering, according to its Instagram page. The fast-food giant took to the social media platform to say that it is now offering couples an option to serve items from its McDonald’s menu, including chicken nuggets and burgers.
The package costs 3.5 million Indonesian rupiah equivalent to about US$230, it said, adding that a variety of packages were available with a minimum order of 200 burgers or packets of nuggets.

According to media reports, this is not the first we have seen of McDonald’s offering wedding packages to its customers. In 2011, CNBC reported that Hong Kong McDonald’s began offering wedding packages to customers, charging HK$1,300 for a fully catered event at one of its restaurants, complete with goody-bags stuffed with toys and a pyramid of boxed apple pies serving as the wedding cake.
McDonald's has been on a roll with its unique marketing tactics. Recently it brought back Grimace as part of its collaboration with Krool Toys on an exclusive video game. Grimace is a McDonald’s fan-favourite known for his signature fuzzy purple look, friendly and playful personality, love for shakes and is said to come from Grimace Island.
On the leadership front, McDonald's promoted Asia CMO Eugene Lee to international CMO for the international developmental licensed (IDL) segment. In his new role, Lee is set to oversee all international regions outside of the US including Latin America, Europe, Middle East and Asia. He said in a LinkedIn post: "It’s been a crazy but oh-so-exciting 14-year ride with McDonald’s…I’m extremely excited and humbled by the elevated responsibilities, and looking forward to interacting with our marketing teams from across the globe!"
