McDonald’s PH pays tribute to mums in heartwarming Mother’s Day film

This Mother's Day, McDonald’s Philippines celebrates the love and care we receive from mums with a heartfelt short film aimed at conveying the message of giving back to our parents as adults.
Set to a heartwarming tune, the video, titled “Kami naman, Ma”, begins with a daughter carefully checking to see if her mother packed everything she needs for her travels, only to discover that she forgot to pack her senior citizen ID.
Shortly after that, her mother's friends arrive to pick her up for their trip, but before they leave, the daughter hands over a bag of McDonald's. The daughter then reminds her mother to stay safe during the trip and to watch her step when she is taking selfies, to which her mother playfully teases, “Yes, mummy”.
The short film concludes with a flashback to when the elderly mother used to send her young daughter on field trips, indicating the passage of time.
A check by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE saw that the video garnered over 4.62 million views in four days, with netizens saying that it had them in tears and that it reminded them of their own mothers.

Last year, McDonald’s Philippines also released a creative Mother’s Day campaign literally "spotlighting" mothers. The brand gave customers a chance to feature their mothers on a billboard. Simply by sharing reasons why they are proud of their mother and a photo of her, customers had the chance to feature their mother in McDonald’s digital billboards across the city. The campaign gathered over 6,100 entries with 797 shares.
