Shiseido Hong Kong has won big at Marketing Events Awards Hong Kong 2023 and was crowned Best of Show – Brand. Designed to recognise excellence in event marketing across the North Asia region, the awards saw plenty of excited industry professionals gather at Hotel ICON on 27 July to see if their companies would take home the top awards. All entries were carefully evaluated by an independent panel of 21 senior and brand-side marketers.

Standing out from the crowd, and impressing the jury was Shiseido Hong Kong which took home six trophies, including four golds, one silver and one bronze. The campaign which wowed the judges, and helped to bag the golds was "SHISEIDOVERSE: 150 Years To The Future". The campaign aimed at recruiting new customers and enhancing top of mind awareness for its products through an online-merge-offline (OMO) experience.

The campaign kicked off with a themed TVC featuring MIRROR ambassadors, which introduced the beauty philosophy of Shiseido from 150 years ago and invited customers to participate to experience the past and future of the brand in Ginza Tokyo, where Shiseido was originated.

Furthermore, the campaign was implemented in both virtual and physical worlds to bring this innovative experience to its fans in all facets. While the immersive metaverse experience allowed customers to personally interact with their favourite MIRROR ambassadors and engage with products in a playful way, the brand also launched a livestreaming party and offline event with an AR video booth.

On the other hand, MSL Group won the prestigious Best of Show – Agency. The agency took home five golds, two silvers and one bronze in total with the launch of “DuoVerse” for HSBC and “Here we are for your health” for FWD Hong Kong. In the “DuoVerse” campaign, instead of just communicating how innovative HSBC was, it created a brand experience that was also truly innovative. Featuring local artists Tyson Yoshi and Serrini, the event elevated consumer experience in the digital, physical and virtual worlds.

To execute a seamless and simultaneous physical and virtual experience,19 motion capture sensors were used so that even the movement of Tyson Yoshi and Serrini’s fingertips were captured and seen in the metaverse. Artists then created avatars that would replicate their every move.

The event created engagement and excitement among citizens as it was attended by over 1000 music show goers, while over 10,000 watched the show online.

MARKETING-INTERACTIVE would also like to congratulate all our finalists for an amazing showing. We'd also like to thank all our judges for putting in time and effort to go through the submissions.
