Lululemon has unveiled a new store in China on Dongping Road of Shanghai, which specialises in yoga, cycling, frisbee, skateboarding, and other sports. This aims to further highlight the brand’s diversified product line.

According to Retail in Asia, the interior design of the new store is inspired by Shanghai’s local DNA, combining walnut wood with ivory white bricks, vintage wall lamps, openwork tiles, patterned floor tiles, as well as the "The Sweatlife" lighting art installation inspired by the old Shanghai Conservatory of Music, to create a retro-chic and vibrant interior. Lululemon hopes to inspire consumers with the balance of body and mind that sports life brings through the new store with unique design along the street.

To celebrate the opening of the new store, lululemon has hosted a series of community activities, such as yoga, yogurt crafting, city cycling, vinyl painting, thematic rooftop party, to greet a community of history. According to the report, lululemon will collaborate with community partners to inspire consumers to face life in a better state and mindset through innovative product experiences and various community activities.

In November this year, lululemon appointed Isabel Ge Mahe, vice president and managing director of Apple China, to serve on its board of directors to better understand Chinese consumers and help guide the brand’s global expansion.

Back in October this year, Lululemon launched an Instagram activation to encourage the public to share what being well means to them by joining in the “Add Yours” sticker chain donated HK$20 to support local mental health charity, Mind HK. Through this collective sharing, lululemon aimed to raise the local community’s awareness on mental health and empower all to speak openly about this topic.
