L'Oréal promotes chief digital officer Kenny Ng

L'Oréal has promoted Kenny Ng to the role of regional eCommerce acceleration director, L'Oréal South Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa (SAPMENA). According to Ng's LinkedIn, he will drive its next growth relay in L'Oréal SAPMENA under the leadership of Shelly Chiang, chief digital and marketing officer, L'Oréal SAPMENA and Matthijs van der Putten, eCommerce director, L'Oréal SAPMENA.
Ng has been with L'Oréal for over five years, and previously helmed the role of chief digital officer, L'Oréal Singapore. During his time as its chief digital officer, he was tasked to be the country digital lead across four divisions, managing fourteen brands. He was involved in L'Oréal's digital transformation, data and analytics, marketing, and media, and eCommerce. Before he was appointed as chief digital officer, he was based in Paris, where he worked with L'Oréal as its global vice president and director of omnichannel communications for Biotherm International, a brand under L'Oréal's Luxe division. He held the position for over two years.
He started off in L'Oréal as its regional digital manager, L'Oréal Travel Retail Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong, where he was the eCommerce and digital marketing lead for Lancôme Travel Retail Asia Pacific. According to his LinkedIn, he developed L'Oréal's digital and eCommerce acceleration blueprint and strategy which connected storytelling, commercial opportunities and consumer engagement across omni channels, supporting its commercial growth ambitions. He also implemented and evaluated digital initiatives, innovations and eCommerce opportunities for the business. Ng was also content marketing agency Collabtive's founding partner and principal consultant for over a year, in charge of its business development, digital marketing, media strategy and social management, as well as its content creation and curation. he also has a range of experience in companies such as BBC, Borneo Motors Singapore, National Gallery of Singapore and the National Heritage Board, all based in Singapore.
L'Oréal designated Singapore as SAPMENA's headquarters last April, naming Vismay Sharma as president of the region. Last June, L'Oréal beefed up its SAPMENA team with the promotion of Ankit Porwal, L'Oréal Indonesia's eCommerce director to GM for eCommerce, consumer products division for L'Oréal SAPMENA. Previously, Porwal was in Indonesia for more than a year and was responsible for building an omni-channel go-to market strategy and eCommerce acceleration for L'Oréal.
L'Oréal was first established in Singapore in 1990, and subsequently set up a regional hub for its South Asia Pacific regions and travel retail Asia Pacific operations in 2013 and 2014 respectively. Sharma joined the Group in India in 1994, where he led both the consumer products and professional products divisions.
Meanwhile, in the APAC region, L'Oréal combined its Malaysia and Singapore operations under a new model just recently to prepare for the future and best position itself to tap new opportunities, emerging from the shifts in the rapidly transforming beauty landscape.
