The fashion show was held at Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) 2023. According to a statement given to A+M by the company, the presence of these individuals exemplified the spirit of the “Women of Worth" movement, which recognises exceptional women from diverse backgrounds who embody L'Oréal Paris' values and mission.

Former world champion squash player and Malaysian legend, Nicol David shared her journey of embracing her worth and finding compassion within. Meanwhile, model Nalisa Amin is on a mission to redefine runway standards as a plus-size model, encouraging others to step up to their worth. Nandini Balakrishnan, a passionate advocate towards celebrating authenticity reminded that “it’s okay to take up space because there is space for everyone.”

“L’Oreal Paris is thrilled to set the stage of our star-studded global campaign 'Walk your worth' to grace Malaysia for the very first time,” said Ankit Porwal, General Manager of L'Oréal Malaysia and Singapore of Consumer Products Division (CPD).

He added that it has been the company’s longstanding mission to inspire and encourage women from all walks of life in to explore their voices and embrace self-worth through their unique identities. “We are very honoured to be celebrating this movement that resonates deeply with Malaysians to walk their own paths authentically with pride. Through our partnership with KLFW, we hope that more Malaysians will join us to embrace this empowering message to the world, to #WalkYourWorth”,” he added.

According to Caryn Yeo, the group product manager of  L'Oréal Paris Malaysia's consumer product division, in Malaysia today, it has become essential for brands to provide a platform that celebrates diversity. However, Yeo believes that when a brand speaks of diversity, it must walk the walk while talking the talk. "We are not just pursuing a trend, we are bringing people together to celebrate and recognise the inherent worth of every woman," she said.

The Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week, she added, served as the perfect platform to exemplify and showcase the movement.

Earlier this year, Lazada Malaysia hosted its very own fashion show in celebration of its 11th birthday sale. It transformed KL's hottest Jalan Bukit Bintang into a fashion runway for its fashion show titled "Koleksi Raya LazLook". The fashion show featured collections from over 10 renowned homegrown fashion brands, giving Malaysians the opportunity to discover new inspirations.

Marcus Chew, Lazada Malaysia's chief marketing officer said that in this day and age, more Malaysians head on to the Lazada platform to search for trendy fashion items. As such, bringing a live fashion show to the streets of Bukit Bintang – at the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle— was inspired by the company’s goal to make “style inspirations shoppable” and easily accessible to Malaysians.

“We wanted to celebrate iconic homegrown fashion brands available on Lazada and showcase their beautiful Muslimah collections ahead of the Raya season,” he said.
