Longines partners Chinese artist and Eddie Peng to celebrate the Year of Wood Snake

As we approach the Year of the Wood Snake in 2025, Longines has collaborated with Chinese artist Wu Jian'an and Taiwan artist Eddie Peng to introduce a special edition of its CONQUEST HERITAGE model.

To reinterpret the story of "Stealing the Immortal Herb" from the famous Chinese tale "The Legend of the White Snake". Wu was invited to create a unique design featuring a mystical snake holding a Lingzhi mushroom in its mouth, intricately engraved on the case back.

In Chinese culture, the snake symbolises elegance, wisdom and transformation. Known for its intuition and resilience, the snake also symbolises rebirth and encourages reflection and personal growth.

Wu's design, titled "Divine Snake Presents Treasure", combines the depth of Chinese cultural heritage with a contemporary artistic expression. Peng, as Longines' ambassador of elegance, was also chosen to front the campaign.

The emblem depicts a snake clutching the Lingzhi, its form spiralling into concentric circles, evoking ripples that symbolise the passage of time and the continuity of life. The symmetrical design mirrors the delicate structure of an oriental jade pendant, embodying timeless elegance.

The "Divine Snake Presents Treasure" emblem conveys wishes for harmony and prosperity, while also reflecting Longines’ commitment to blending tradition with innovation. This cultural fusion highlights the brand’s dedication to craftsmanship while embracing modern creativity.

Evoking a spirit of daring and creativity, the Conquest collection became the first Longines watch line to have its name trademarked in 1954. Celebrating the first Conquest models, the Conquest Heritage line appeals to all lovers of vintage design, blending the classic style of the 1950s with modern watchmaking technology. The new Conquest Heritage Year of the Snake honours this legacy while incorporating traditional Chinese elements.

Limited to 2,025 pieces, the CONQUEST HERITAGE YEAR OF THE SNAKE features a gradient red dial accentuated by the collection's signature gilt hands and indexes. Bringing a touch of sophistication and elegance to the Year of the Snake, this limited edition watch comes with a black leather strap.
