A "LOEWE x Howl's Moving Castle" wall mural featuring Japanese animated fantasy film Howl's Moving Castle is in the making as local illustrator Pei Chung has released visual teasers on his Instagram.

Done in collaboration with Loewe, the wall mural will be launched at Central's Aberdeen Street and Pacific Place respectively, introducing Loewe's latest “LOEWE x Howl's Moving Castle” collection.

Globally launched on 2 February, Loewe’s collection is in a final collaboration with Studio Ghibli, bringing unforgettable characters and scenes of Howl’s Moving Castle to life across an array of crafted ready-to-wear, bags and accessories.

The partnership aims to bring its collection to life by unveiling a thematic wall mural. The sneak peek of the mural on Chung's Instagram shows that it is divided into two parts, with one part featuring the classic castle in the animation and another part featuring Calcifer and Sophie Hatter, classic characters in the animation. Although the street mural is still in the making, Pei Chung shared his painting progress on his Instagram stories. He revealed that a lot of passersby were watching him painting even if the painting was not completed yet.

This is not the first time Loewe partners with Pei Chung to launch wall murals. Back in January last year, Loewe collaborated with Studio Ghibli's "Spirited Away" to launch a collection. It also partnered with Pei Chung to paint a street mural at Aberdeen Street, painting classic scene of Chihiro Ogino and Hakuin in "Spirited Away".

Don't miss: Louis Vuitton unveils second collaboration with Yayoi Kusama

There has been trends of luxury brand partnering with artists to launch co-branded collections. Back in December 2022, Louis Vuitton has collaborated with contemporary Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama for the second time, 10 years after the first creative partnership

First revealed on the Cruise 2023 runway, the latest collaboration brings not only the artist’s signature dots to the Monogram canvas, but also explores a wide range of recurring themes. Yayoi Kusama’s symbolic objects, hypnotic motifs, and imaginings of infinity will take over the Maison’s own emblems, creating magical objects that transcend time and space.
