The LEGO Group has named Nina Patricia Da Costa (pictured) as its new general manager of Singapore, Malaysia, and its travel retail (SMTR) business unit.
Da Costa brings over 17 years of experience in marketing, sales and general management across multinational organisations.
Her extensive track record as a strategic leader, adept at navigating both local and regional roles in diverse multi-channel environments and categories, positions her as a catalyst for innovation and growth within the business unit, said LEGO Group in a statement.

She was previously with LVMH for nine years. She joined as the general manager of Benefit Cosmetics in Malaysia in 2015 before moving up to regional marketing director of SEA and India for Benefit Cosmetics.
She was promoted to regional general manager of SEA and India for Benefit Cosmetics in 2018 and helmed the role for just over four years before moving up to the role of travel retail sales director of Moet Hennessy, helming the travel retail Asia Pacific (APAC) team.
She was also business development manager for L'Oréal in 2007 where she was responsible for overall brand building and brand P&L management, retail and marketing, digital, and training.
"I am thrilled to begin this new journey with the LEGO Group, leveraging my expertise in steering the Singapore, Malaysia, and travel retail business unit and in contributing to the group’s ongoing success in this lively and rapidly evolving region," said Da Costa.
"I am eager to embark on this new and exciting phase of my career, cultivating collaborative synergy within our teams and our esteemed partners, as we collectively advance our mission of empowering individuals through the transformative power of play.”
In tandem, LEGO Group has promoted Cedric Roose to general manager of India and Emerging Asia (IEA). Prior to the promotion, Roose was the country manager of New Zealand.
A LEGO Group veteran, Roose has spent the last 15 years gaining a wealth of experience in sales, regional commercial development and general management across Australia, Singapore, and New Zealand.
With IEA being key growth engines for the region, Roose's strong and experienced leadership track record positions the company to drive sustainable commercial growth and regional expansion in IEA with a strategic focus on India and Indonesia, said LEGO Group in a statement.
"I am truly honoured and humbled to spearhead the newly established IEA business unit. The potential across India, Indonesia, and other countries in this part of the world is boundless, and I am eager to work closely with the team and our distributor partners to continue championing the LEGO brand and foster immersive high-quality play experiences for both children and adults alike," said Roose.
Earlier this year, the LEGO Group expanded its APAC team with new appointments. It named Uma Ramanan as its new APAC head of marketing and Claus Kristensen as its new senior vice president in the APAC region.
As the new APAC head of marketing, Ramanan will be responsible for accelerating the LEGO Group's marketing strategy in the region. Previously, she held the role of regional brand director where she led the charge to deliver APAC's growth target through integrated marketing, according to LEGO in a statement.
In his new role, Kristensen will oversee the APAC region and its newly reshuffled business units. These include two new business units - India and Emerging Asia (IEA), and Singapore, Malaysia and Travel Retail (SMTR), which LEGO introduced this year.
