To amplify the effectiveness of the government-initiated "Night Vibes Hong Kong" campaign, various district councils have proposed to host Lantern Festival night markets and carnivals to stimulate local consumption.

According to a document submitted by the Home Affairs Department of Tsuen Wan District Office, a three-day Lantern Festival carnival is proposed to launch from 23 to 25 February 2024 at Sha Tsui Road Playground. The event will invite 100 merchants offering food, games and various performances on-site.

The district office has suggested setting up traditional lanterns for visitors to take photos at night. It will also work with related chambers of commerce and shopping malls to explore providing discounts to residents visiting the market carnival, with the ultimate goal of promoting the district's economy in the long run.

Meanwhile, the Sha Tin District Office has proposed to organise a Lantern Festival night market called 沙田元宵樂繽紛 on 24 and 25 February at Sha Tin Park. The event will feature lanterns, photo spots, dance performances, and traditional handicraft stalls, introducing the traditions of the Lantern Festival to participants.

To foster economic development within the district, various shopping malls in Sha Tin District will offer discounts on catering and consumption to local citizens.

On the other hand, some districts are considering leveraging local festivals as an opportunity to establish markets. For instance, the Sai Kung District Office has proposed to launch the "西貢天后寶誕廟會" with more than 70 stalls from 23 to 27 May. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the market's offerings from 1 pm to 10 pm.

On a similar note, the Eastern District Office has proposed to host "Night Dragon Dance" (夜飛龍) performances on weekends during the Tam Kung Celebrations (譚公誕) in May. It will also invite merchants to offer discounts on dining and consumption.

Most recently, the revamped Yau Tsim Mong District Council has proposed to host a community version of the "Night Vibes Hong Kong" campaign in Tsim Sha Tsui over the Lunar New Year holidays and Valentine’s Day. It is inspired by the government's "Night Vibes" initiatives.

The proposed dates of the “Night Vibes Tsim Sha Tsui” campaign (尖咀夜繽紛) will be around the Lunar New Year holidays and Valentine’s Day in February, aiming to attract residents to spend money in the district based on the "government, business and citizen" partnership model (政、商、民合作模式).

The campaign will feature lighting decorations, large standing neon signs, street performances and activities on Nathan Road around Park Lane Shopper’s Boulevard to boost consumption involving nearby stores and hotels. Merchants nearby will also distribute coupons, New Year snacks and gifts.
