La Mer names South Korean actress Gianna Jun as brand ambassador

Skincare and make-up brand La Mer has named South Korean actress Jun Ji-Hyun, more famously known as Gianna Jun, as its newest brand ambassador, according to the brand who revealed the news on its Instagram page.

Declared by La Mer to be one of the most recognisable leading ladies in the industry,  Jun is a familiar face in the film industry. She has starred in many notable films, such as My Sassy Girl, My Love from The Star and The Legend of The Blue Sea, making her an ideal pick for the role. 

In campaign images, Jun poses with La Mer's iconic moisturising soft cream in minimalistic and clean campaign images.

The celebrity has since appeared on a number of the brand’s posts, featuring the different products from the collection. Her appointment was also featured on the brand’s YouTube page, with the star introducing some of the brand's products.

Many brands have tapped into well-known actors and actresses to front their global campaigns. Jun's appointment follows Penélope Cruz's appointment as apparel brand Geox's first global brand ambassador, according to the brand in a statement on Instagram.

Cruz will front the brand's Autumn/Winter 2023 campaign which was created by photographer and director Gray Sorrenti, it said on its site. The collection includes boots and coats aimed at fostering comfort, style, and versatility.

"This new chapter aims to blend our innovative spirit with Penélope Cruz's timeless beauty and style. Two seemingly distant universes, yet so close and in perfect harmony with the authenticity that defines Geox," said Geox on the appointment.
