KFC SG calls for pitch as it looks to add another agency to roster

KFC Singapore has called for a creative pitch to add on an agency on its existing roster, to support the creative development and execution of its campaigns. In a statement to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, KFC Singapore confirmed the news and said, “We hope to find fresh ideas that will bring excitement to our fans and creative works that continue building KFC as a distinctive brand in Singapore.”

The appointment is slated for a year, with an option to renew annually. KFC Singapore added that incumbent TSLA will remain on the roster, along with Havas Singapore which handles media buying, and Arena Media which handles social. For PR purposes, KFC Singapore works with Ninemar for PR. 

The call for the pitch comes just a month after Johnson Yohannan was appointed as the head of KFC Singapore, effective 1 December 2022. He is currently responsible for the entire operations of the KFC business as well as sales, strategy, growth, and people.

Yohannan is an accomplished senior executive with over 40 years of global experience in the retail F&B industry helming various leading roles in diverse markets across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Meanwhile, KFC Singapore has also been experimenting with its marketing executions. Last year, it decided to launch its limited -edition burger from a simple crowdsourcing effort on TikTok. Social media personality Zaki Hussain posted a  short clip featuring his opinion on how he would elevate the taste of the classic KFC Zinger by adding a few additional ingredients that he loves. The video caught the attention of local content creators who attempted to recreate his burger, while KFC fans flocked to the TikTok post and tagged KFC Singapore to consider the suggestion.

Meanwhile, in July 2022, it launched a KFC-themed multi-sensory pop-up installation called the #MEANDMYKFC Installation, alongside the annual International Fried Chicken Day Party to mark its 45th anniversary.

Juliana Lim,  senior director, marketing and food innovation of KFC Singapore, added, that looking ahead, besides new campaigns and launches, fans of KFC in Singapore can look forward to the comeback of many fan favourites from past years in 2023.
