KFC MY will replace your chicken if the pieces are too small in attempt to win back consumers

KFC Malaysia is allowing its customers to exchange chicken pieces that customers consider to be too tiny after complaints about the size of KFC’s chicken pieces being too small.
Following its Mother’s Day campaign that reportedly saw several KFC outlets in the country completely run out of chicken, patrons are able to do a one-for-one exchange for uneaten or partially eaten chicken pieces upon presenting a receipt for a proof of purchase.

The exchange will only be applicable for its original recipe, hot and spicy as well as its promotional chicken flavours and is subject to availability, according to a statement by the brand.
“Quality taste and size guaranteed. Satisfaction of replacement,” said the copy for the campaign.
According to X user @limlipeng and @MalayFoodHunter, complaints of KFC’s chicken being too small began in 2023 with customers posting pictures of their hands next to KFC’s chicken pieces for comparison.
“Our product replacement policy has been in place for many years and was implemented with our customers at heart. We take pride in our brand promise to keep our customers happy and satisfied," said a spokesperson from QSR Brands in conversation with A+M.
"The policy is a long-standing reminder of QSR Brands’ commitment towards our customers, to ensure craveable moments and quality experience every time they enter our stores," the spokesperson also added.
The campaign comes weeks after news of QSR Brands reportedly shuttering 108 KFC outlets in Malaysia temporarily amidst the ongoing pro-Palestine boycott.
QSR Brands owns and operates the KFC fast-food franchise in Malaysia. It also operates the restaurants in Singapore, Brunei and Cambodia.
According to the Straits Times, Kelantan was the hardest hit, with nearly 80% or up to 21 branches temporarily shut.
This was reportedly followed by 15 outlets in Johor, 11 branches in Selangor, 11 in Kedah, and 10 in Shah-Alam.
