It has also outlined plans to break into the Indonesia in 2019, according to The Straits Times. Marketing has reached out to Jollibee for comment.Dennis Flores, president and head of international business (Europe, Middle East, Asia and Australia) of Jollibee, said in a statement to ST that the business has taken on a new level, and half of its customers are Singaporeans and no longer Filipinos. He added that Jollibee’s initial push came from Singapore’s big population of Filipinos; however, growth has been tied to location.Flores also said that the Jollibee is eyeing Indonesia, with plans to enter in 2019. It plans to open 150 stores in Indonesia in the next decade. He added in the interview to ST that Indonesia is a market which cannot be ignored as Indonesians love chicken.Plans eyeing Malaysia and Indonesia market growth first emerged in 2014, which saw Jollibee being on the hunt for partners to enter both markets. At the time, Jollibee CFO Ysmael Baysa said the group was only able to buy a local brand in ASEAN markets. He added that the brand is growing rapidly in China, US and Philippines and the move in the SEA market could be “big [for the brand] because ASEAN has a very strong middle class.Currently, Jollibee has five outlets in Singapore – two at Lucky Plaza and outlets in Changi, Novena and Paya Lebar. It has plans to open its sixth outlet in April next year at Jurong East. It opened its first store in 2013 at Lucky Plaza located in Orchard.
