Louis Vuitton has appointed Chinese Canadian pop star Jackson Wang as its brand ambassador, who is one of the brand’s most high-profile Chinese ambassadors.

According to its official Instagram post, Louis Vuitton said: “The Maison is pleased to announce that the world-renowned singer will be joining as new house ambassador.” The luxury fashion house appointed the GOT7 star as the latest brand ambassador, shortly after Wang made appearance at the Louis Vuitton Fall 2023 menswear show.

This comes after Louis Vuitton announced in 2021 that it was suspending its relationship with its previous brand ambassador Kris Wu, after Wu was accused of predatory behaviour by a woman claiming to be one of his victims. In November 2022, Wu was sentenced to 13 years in prison and fined RMB $600 million by a Beijing court on charges including rape.

MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to Louis Vuitton for further information.

This is not the first time brand collaboration of Wang. Back in 2018, Wang was named as Fendi's ambassasdor and dropped the single "Fendiman". He also released a capsule collection with the brand, which sold out in a very short period of time. Soon, he became the face of Cartier and Armani Beauty, Additionally, Wang also signed deals with global brands such as Beats by Dre, Nescafe and L'Oreal Men, Pepsi, Snow Beer, VIVO X21 and Douyin.

Separately, the K-pop star ended his livestream on TikTok last September after fans continuously spent on “gifts” to be delivered to him. According to One Ahgase Got7’s tweet on 7 September, Wang terminated his TikTok live in less than a minute as he discovered supporters kept spending money for delivering Tiktok filters.

Wang has held a series of live broadcasts across his social media accounts, including Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and Weibo, to promote his upcoming album MAGIC MAN.During the livestream, Wang was autographing posters for fans and decided to hold a live broadcast via Instagram to kill time. After a while, he decided to experiment with different social platforms.
