In a launch video to promote the campaign, Crunchyroll put together snippets of different anime shows. The text on the video told fans that they now have the choice of enjoying Indonesian-subbed anime videos.
To further support anime fans in Indonesia, Crunchyroll is offering simulcasts for Indonesian anime fans every new season so that they can watch the latest episodes simultaneously as they air in Japan, capturing the thrill and excitement of being among the first to see the latest episodes.
Some of the current ongoing simulcast series on Crunchyroll include Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian, Bye Bye Earth, Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction, My Hero Academia, One Piece, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, The Cafe Terrace and Its Goddesses, Tower of God and True Beauty.
"We're thrilled to bring an immersive anime experience for fans in Indonesia," said Akshat Sahu, senior director of Marketing of APAC at Crunchyroll. "We believe in the power of anime to connect people, and our expansion in Indonesia reflects the great potential of the anime fandom in the country. We are already seeing high traction on our platform in the region with growing subscribers. We aim to make anime more accessible and enjoyable for everyone in Indonesia by providing localised content and exciting anime experiences."
To show their dedication to the Indonesian anime community, Crunchyroll will soon be announcing their participation in upcoming anime events in the region that will include a host of anime experientials and activities.
Additionally, Crunchyroll will bring the theatrical release of the highly anticipated Demon Slayer trilogy, further cementing its commitment to bringing top-tier anime experiences to Indonesian audiences.
The content library for Indonesia will continue to grow as more local language options are made available over time, it said in a statement.
Prior to this campaign, Crunchyroll unveiled a new brand identity. The revamp included a new look, feel and sound that will reflect the joy that anime brings to fans, and taps into the ethos of fun and celebration.
The updated brand identity includes a modernised logo with a balanced eye symbol and revamped wordmark, a new font set called 'Crunchyroll Atyp' and a vibrant colour system featuring orange, black, white and taupe.
Crunchyroll recently also partnered with Telkomsel and introduced bundle packages for Indonesian users earlier this year in May. The package starts from IDR 36,000 and includes access to a MAXstream quota of up to 3 GB with a Crunchyroll subscription.
