IKEA just opened a new store on Roblox and yes, it's hiring

Home furnishing brand IKEA has partnered with global platform Roblox to launch a virtual store - and they're hiring players too.
The collaboration, titled "Careers done different" aims to attract a new generation of co-workers. The virtual store opens on 24 June and is designed to introduce users to the roles and career progression routes available at IKEA through a series of games inspired by real-life jobs at the Swedish retailer.
In addition, the game, titled "The Co-Worker Game", will be providing paid opportunities for Roblox players.

Alongside the paid co-workers, the broader Roblox community, gamers and IKEA fans will be able to explore and experience the virtual world of IKEA on Roblox too.
This includes venturing to IKEA's Swedish Food Market and Bistro and visiting the various showrooms.
"We're excited to be the first brand to launch paid work on Roblox to showcase how we do careers differently, bringing our unique career philosophy to life," said Darren Taylor, country people and culture manager, IKEA UK and Ireland.
"At IKEA, there is no set route to career progression. Our co-workers are able to change roles, switch departments and grow in any direction they choose, both in the game or in the real world. There are many ways to learn and grow at IKEA, and that's what IKEA on Roblox is all about," he added.
Applications for the co-worker roles in the virtual store are now open and will close on 16 June, with paid shifts for 10 new co-workers. Successful applicants will be able to help customers and get promoted to move departments just like in the real world.
The recruitment process includes a questionnaire and will require an updated CV. If successful, applicants will be invited to a digital interview. Candidates need to be over 18 and live in the UK or Ireland.
Successful applicants will be paid £13.15 per hour, the IKEA hourly rate of pay for a London co-worker.
This isn't the first time a brand has leveraged Roblox for unique campaigns and activations. In December last year, adidas landed on Roblox with a digital collection, highlighting self-expression, creativity and user experience by fusing fashion with gaming.
As part of the experience, adidas created a range of apparel that embodies the playful, imaginative, and visually bold spirit of Roblox, while staying true to adidas’ contemporary and performance-driven character.
The experience also came with the launch of digital pop-up stores, carrying officially licensed digital clothing and bespoke outfits for the platform.
