HSBC has set its eyes on the youth of the nation, recently rolling out a competition for secondary school students in Hong Kong. The campaign consists of a series of activities to equip them with financial knowledge.

In collaboration with Junior Achievement Worldwide, the financial education programme partnership "Building a Financially Capable Generation" is aimed at inspiring youths to build healthy financial habits and knowledge through a mix of virtual workshops, mentorship and self-learning initiatives, as well as encouraging them to learn and apply their future skills and knowledge via an innovative and gamified financial capability app.

Apart from these, the competition helps the younger generation cultivate a money management concept and habit, and builds their confidence and financial resilience.

The competition consists of three parts, including the foundational session guided by volunteers from HSBC, a financial capability app with games and practices, and the Hong Kong Innovation Challenge, which was attended by about 80 local school students in 11 teams, plus over 10 HSBC volunteers and executives.

The winning team came from Chiu Lut Sau Memorial Secondary School, who will represent Hong Kong in joining other competitors from the rest of 12 countries and regions, including China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the US, to name a few, at the global challenge.
