Niccolo Hotel's The Murray, Hong Kong has appointed Mavis Ko (pictured) as director of communications. In her new role, Ko will report to Sonny Ang, executive assistant manager for sales and marketing of The Murray.
As a seasoned hotelier, Ko brings on board over 15 years’ experience in marketing and PR across the F&B and hospitality industries. In her new capacity, Ko will be leading the communications team to promote The Murray to the global audience and continue to position the hotel as one of Hong Kong’s most iconic hotels.
In a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Ko said that she will also be responsible for creating and executing impactful marketing campaigns while promoting on-brand messaging to guests through traditional, digital and social media channels. Ko also said that the position was vacant when she took up this role.
Prior to joining The Murray, she was the director of marketing communications (Hong Kong) at the Shangri-La Group, helming the marketing communications team that oversees four hotels in Hong Kong. Before that, Ko was the director of PR and communications at Cordis, Hong Kong, the flagship property of the Cordis brand under the Langham Hospitality Group.
“Sophisticatedly nestled in the legendary Cotton Tree Drive in between the Central business district and the green oasis of Hong Kong Park, The Murray, Hong Kong offers timeless pleasures, with the opportunities to discover new luxury styles, tastes and cultures through its unique experiences. I am excited to join the hotel and look forward to creating more impactful campaigns that resonate with our guests,” Ko said.
Back in 2018, The Murray named Evelyn Yo as its director of communications. Yo joined The Murray in April 2017 as assistant director of communications, as part of the hotel's pre-opening team. During the time, she was tasked at overseeing The Murray’s advertising, marketing communications and public relations initiatives to promote Niccolo Hotel’s flagship property to the global audience.
