Hilda Chan steps up as HKSTP's chief marketing officer

Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) has promoted Hilda Chan (pictured) to chief marketing officer, reporting to Albert Wong, CEO of HKSTP. 

In a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Chan said she will be leading the marketing division to promote Hong Kong's innovation and technology (I&T) and HKSTP globally.

She is also tasked at driving executive-level strategy across branding, content and storytelling, social and digital performance, events and community engagement, corporate communications and public relations, creative and design to realise HKSTP's vision and business objectives.

In addition to Hong Kong headquarter, Chan works on the marketing of HKSTP's Shenzhen branch and the go-to-market strategy covering long-haul regions such as the US, Europe and the Middle East; and short-haul markets including China, Southeast Asia, and Japan.

Chan joined HKSTP in 2020 and was most recently the head of marketing of HKSTP. In the past years, Chan has driven the HKSTP rebranding exercise; redefining HKSTP’s global media strategy; and rejuvenating the corporate outreach and community engagement.

Before joining HKSTP, Chan had a tenure of three years and four months at the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB). As the global director of brand marketing, she led a team of 13 at the headquarters to drive effective brand strategies, global marketing communications, digital innovations, and integrated channel planning for over 20 markets worldwide.

Additionally, Chan has held positions at several creative agencies prior to her roles at HKTB and HKSTP. These include serving as business director for Asia at Leo Burnett; head of business planning and management for the Cathay Pacific Airways global central team at McCann Worldgroup; and strategic account director for clients such as Shangri-La, McDonald's China, and Absolut Vodka China at TBWA\ Worldwide.

Most recently, HKSTP partnered with creative agency Grey Hong Kong to launch a new brand campaign “Keep up” that showcases world’s firsts from HKSTP making global impact and HKSTP is where a brighter future constantly created through innovation and technology solutions for the world.

In collaboration with six international and local artists, HKSTP presented the newly revamped Experience Centre at the Park for an elevated interactive experiences with over 300 tech components across 10 zones with an exclusive art tech series crafted under the theme “House warming” that celebrates the harmonious confluence of technology, sustainability and startup dynamism.
