Havas Immerse Malaysia has been renamed to Havas Malaysia, according to the agency in a release.

The rebrand, according to Havas Malaysia, reflects the agency's commitment to adaptability, growth and its dedication to delivering exceptional services to clients.

The change follows the recent rebranding of Havas Thailand, signalling the company's effort to consolidate its vision, values and services under the Havas brand.

In tandem, Havas Malaysia has strategically expanded its team to champion women leadership.

Bowie Tiong has been appointed as business director in addition to the change of name. She will report directly to CEO Nizwani Shahar. In her role as business director, Tiong will spearhead the development of business opportunities, cultivate client relationships and explore avenues for new revenue streams.

Prior to her new role at Havas, Tiong had seven years of experience at Ogilvy where she was a brand lead for prominent FMCG clients. She has also worked at companies such as Naga DDB Malaysia and BRC Group.

In addition, Wendy Tan has joined the team at C-Cube Studios, Havas Malaysia's content studio and adaption team as associate account director.

Shireen Ang, on the other hand, takes the helm as creative director. She will report to chief creative officer Donevan Chew.

Ang has over a decade of experience in crafting campaigns. An experienced professional, she has previously worked at agencies such as Naga DDB Tribal and TBWA\Worldwide.

Supporting the creative team is Kharlal Nisha who has joined as associate creative director along with Yeo Lee Kee and Michelle Chong as the creative group heads, Jass Sin Lee as senior art director, Joanna Mak as art director, and Ain Nabilah Baharudin as senior copywriter.

"Our transformation into Havas Malaysia signifies a strategic shift towards a future defined by innovation, inclusivity, and excellence," said CEO Nizwani.

"We are proud to have assembled a powerhouse team of women leaders and to be building a diverse agency that bring unique perspectives and unparalleled expertise to the forefront. This marks the beginning of a new era for our agency, and we are poised to set new standards in the industry," she added.

Havas Malaysia is not the only Havas brand to champion women leadership. Back in November 2023, Havas Market Singapore appointed Shermaine Lau as its new eCommerce head.

The appointment comes as Havas Market seeks to enhance its focus on delivering meaningful shopping experiences for brands, emphasising end-to-end omnichannel solutions.
