Havas Indonesia names new head of strategy

Havas Indonesia has named David Byron Johnson (pictured) as its new head of strategy as the communications network strengthens its senior leadership team and aims to further the agency's competitive position in the market. His position is effective immediately.
In his new role, Johnson will spearhead the agency's strategic initiatives, drive growth opportunities and mould the market footprint of Havas Indonesia, according to a statement by the agency.

"Johnson brings an extensive wealth of insightful and strategic expertise across diverse categories and brands spanning Asia, Turkey, and the UK," explained Satyajit Sen, CEO, Havas Indonesia.
"His background reflects a comprehensive grasp of manoeuvring through diverse markets and cultures, effectively distilling strategies into straightforward yet impactful insights that drive brand expansion," he added.
Prior to joining Havas Indonesia, Johnson was a strategic communications consultant at Publicis Media, a role he held from August 2022. Most notably, Johnson had an 11-year career at Mindshare with the role of head of strategy, ASEAN from April 2014 to January 2018 before he departed from the company, according to his LinkedIn. Johnson has also held roles at BBDO Worldwide and OMD.
“Havas' dynamic and innovative advertising approach, which brings together all disciplines under one unified village, combined with its commitment to making a significant impact for brands, businesses, and individuals, deeply resonated with me,” said Johnson.

In fact, Havas Indonesia has been beefing up its leadership board with recent strategic additions to enhance its digital capabilities and fuel market growth. Sanchar Roy has been appointed as the head of digital, Nancy Firdaus as the new head of digital business solutions and Rizkl Darmawan as the head of content for Socialyse Indonesia, a social media player under Havas Group.
These appointments, according to a release to the press aim to signify Havas Indonesia’s commitment to staying ahead in the digital landscape. With the combined talent and expertise of these new team members, the agency is better equipped to deliver impactful and successful digital campaigns.
