Havas Group Indonesia has appointed Fariz Azlan (pictured) as ECD to lead the creative team and drive the next phase of growth for Havas Group Indonesia. He will also be focusing on cementing the creative value proposition across all disciplines of the agency, while reporting to Agus Sudradjat, chairman of Havas Group Indonesia. His appointment follows the departure of Roy Sagala after five years with the network.
Prior to this, he was ECD at Y&R Jakarta, according to his LinkedIn. He also worked at Naga DDB Malaysia and M&C Saatchi. In his prior roles, Azlan has previously developed, managed and executed brand communication and creative campaigns across ATL, BTL and digital platforms.
According to his LinkedIn, Azlan views himself as a creative with a love for strategy. Having 16 years in his creative journey, he has worked in Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta, and shoots in places such as Bangkok and Kingston. He started his career as a copywriter at Publicis Groupe, and went on to take on more creative roles at Y&R Kuala Lumpur, BBDO/Proximity Malaysia, and Y&R Indonesia.
“I’m excited to be a part of a talented team and eager to dive in and create meaningful work for our clients. Havas Group’s lineage and ideology of building meaningful brands and the concept of an integrated ‘village’ are exactly what brands need. I am excited to be a part of this value-proposition and bringing this vision to life along with driving commercial growth for our clients," Azlan said.
Sudradjat said Azlan's rich creative background and experience working on a cross-section of brands and categories will be immensely valuable to the network.
“He will play an instrumental role to promote closer integration within our business units in sync with our overall strategy of breaking silos across creative and media functions and provide the best methods and channels to grow our clients’ businesses," Sudradjat added.
Separately, the network recently saw the exit of its CEO Anwesh Bose in Indonesia after close to six years. Bose took on the role in January 2018 and continues to be an advisor to the executive committee of Havas Group Indonesia following his exits.
