
First-ever Hashtag Asia 2021 shortlist unveiled

MARKETING-INTERACTIVE is thrilled to announce the shortlist for Asia’s first-ever dedicated social media awards show, Hashtag Asia. The awards aim to honour and recognise the best social media work from Asia, including Australia and New Zealand.
Finalists are competing across 21 categories open for entry covering diverse social media disciplines, with all entrants competing for gold, silver and bronze trophies. The awards were judged by 33 client-side marketers, content creators and senior agency professionals.
One of the jury members, Nic Redfern, head of social media - regional brands at Expedia Group, said that social media marketers are experts at rolling with the punches and no time has this mattered more than during the years of the pandemic. "It was inspiring to see the creative and thoughtful ways brands kept consumer needs at the heart of their activity, using the power of social media to make a meaningful difference to both their businesses and their communities," she added.
While another member of the panel, Kenny Sham, head of marketing (Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau), LEGO, added: "Consumer online browsing and shopping behaviour changes every single day, especially with the pandemic situation, it’s great to see that many traditional brands managed to step out of their routine way of doing digital. They are proactively trying new ways to reach out to their target audience through more interactive and engaging social media formats.”
Additionally, jury member, Natalie Truong, CMO, Asia, Middle East and Africa and partner at Mercer, explained that the competition was fierce this year, with some really exciting and innovative entries pushing the boundaries on creativity, innovation. "For some, there was the perfect dose of humour to drive home key messages and deliver on the objectives of the campaigns. The future of social media marketing in this region is really inspiring. Congratulations to all the winners," Truong said.
